caller: I'm sorry to disturb you but I'm trying to ring an old friend in Australia who is celebrating her 101 birthday today and everytime I ring nobody is picking up the phone and I think she might be so excited while celebrating her birthday right now and don't notice that I'm ringing them or it could be that... "oh God" I hope she's still alive by now! it could be that she's not in good condition and I'm an old friend and I just want to greet her that's all but I can't get through.. me: So it seems to me that you regulary ring their number. What's the number you tried ringing
caller: Yes! I do.I normally ring their landline but she recently move to NSW so I was given these mobile number to ring and that machine keeps on cutting me of and I don't have any idea what she's talking about! me: So how did you ring the mobile? caller: With my landline phone in nz? We are under telecom! me: No, sorry what I mean is what is the mobile number given to you? caller: oh,Oh...yes...the number is 04263....... me: Thanks, from NZ you have to put 0061 and then followed by the number you have without the 0 infront caller: I beg your pardon! that's not the number I gave you!!!! me: 0061 is the number for you to ring out caller: I beg your pardon! but the number should be 04263...why would you tell me to ring a wrong number! me: It's not a wrong number, that's a number that you have to dial infront caller: nooooo! the number I gave you started with o4 and not with some 0061? you are making the number longer and totally different! (and the story goes on and on for 10 minutes bago ko sya maconvince to put 0061 as her access code...in short, temper management ito !)
