It was last week of August of 2010 when ate Veron invited us to attend Kuya Gerry's ordination as a pastor. It was also a perfect time for me to visit ate Veron. It's been a while we haven't seen each other. It's also a good out of town bonding time with my CCC friends and a perfect time from work stress. The lake is not advisable for swimming so we just went for a walk enjoying the scenery. We also visited some of the fish ponds in the area and of course the lake. Ternate is is a fourth-class municipality in the province of Cavite. It is surrounded by beautiful lakes.Huge part of their livelihood has something to do with growing fishes ,shrimps and crabs. Kuya Jerry harvested fresh shrimps and crabs just for us and we happily feasted on it not even thinking of possible high blood for eating too much! The crab was really gigantic and I was so amazed!Obviously, the biggest crab I've ever seen in my life :) TRIVIA: The lifespan of crabs is in the range of 8 to 13 years. Males have larger claws than female crabs. The females’ abdomen is wide and round compared to the slender abdomen of males. They are omnivorous and feed predominantly on algae. Crabs teeth are in their stomachs. Some species consume bacterial, crustaceans, worms, mollusks, fungi and detritus.
It was just a short visit but it was really memorable. We went home really full and happy and I can't help but be fixated on the crabs and the shrimps ;)
Million thanks to Ate Veron and Kuya Gerry for the warm welcome! Sa uulitin!
