This had been a topic on FB for quiet sometime two or three months ago but I never dared watching it not wanting to be as depressed as I already am. Yesterday,I was on my way home and a Korean movie was played on the bus.I don't usually pay attention to movies on buses because they were mostly too violent or not just my taste. Yesterday, the moment I looked on the movie being played on,It caught my interest that I almost feel annoyed I have to get off the bus because I already arrived home. I went home wishing I should have asked the bus driver or the conductor what the title of the movie being played on. Later tonight,I posted on fb asking for people to recommend me good movie to watch and Verms suggested Miracle in Cell #7.I was actually surprised this was the movie being played on the bus earlier this morning on my way home! Oh well, the odds are in my favor! Thankfully,it's available on youtube so I was able to watch the full movie with English subtitle. I seriously thought the movie was some sort of a dramatic miraculous religious thing.Turns out,it's more than that with a touch of good sense of humor. The movie is classy and moving, only I hated that it made me cry a river! It's a Korean movie,a story of a mentally challenged father's relationship with his daughter. He was sentenced to death accused of molesting and killing a chief general's daughter. His girl desperately wanted a sailor moon bag, only he needed more time so he can earn more money to buy it.Sadly, the chief general's daughter had it on the day they were checking it. One day,the girl showed up at his work wanting to show him where else can he buy a sailor moon bag.Well,it is where the story at the court started, now his little girl a grown up woman,a lawyer trying to reopen the case so she can defend his own father. It was an icy cold evening,no one knew the truth. From time to time, his little girl sneak into prison to see him.His fellow inmates bonded well because of her. The chief of the prison guard ( I recognized him from a certain koreanovela as guard as well) met an accident while trying to appease a fire incident. When nobody dared or even cared to help him,Lee Yong-go carried him out of the fire both ending in the hospital. The prison chief changed a lot from that fire incident. From a cold man,he became kind including Lee's inmates. His daughter was raised in a care center right after he was imprisoned.
Years after, his daughter now a lawyer reopened the case and won.She cannot bring back her father's life of course but atleast, she's proven his innocence.
When it comes to fatherly love,I have no idea. But most girls believes that their best and one true love is their father because he's the only man in the world who loves his girl unconditionally and would never want to hurt her. The actors/ actress are stupendous! The actress who played as the daughter is really pretty . It was such a heart breaking butbeautful soulful fictional story. The last part though was open ended. There are few things that I would love to highlight Admitting to the crime. His happiness is his daughter, but when the chief general threatened to hurt her,he lied just to keep her safe. Anger. I say the chief general's reaction is valid considering he lost his daughter. It's true when it's all about our love ones, our mind is sometimes clouded with anger and revenge. What I don't get is the prisoner's practice.I have heard lots of times that when your new to prison, you have to under go some "pambubugbog" depending on your crime. Id say how dare them to pass on some quick judgement to others when they are also prisoners themselves.I just don't get it. Love. The best thing to get back at someone is to love and forgive just as he died to the prison chief. You see,no one I think who do good deeds are rewarded with bad things.
