OPENING SCENE,LOS ANGELES,CA Two girls who seemed to be best friends where saying goodbye to each other when the other one ended kissing the other girl and it upsets her. " what are you doing? we all have feelings for our friends but it doesn't mean we act on them" I find this as one of the biggest struggles a gay person has to deal with specially those who have closest straight friends. They put you into a position where its hard to tell between pure friendship and attraction. This episode is all about confrontations and facing your biggest fears. "No more twat,no more twat for me. It gets me in trouble" -Jenny An old college friend came to visit Jenny.Upon hearing Jenny's story, she suggested they should go spy on Francheska to see who they are dealing with much to Jenny's hesitation. Funny enough, they have bump into her saving their asses twice without them realizing it.When they finally found out who she is,Jenny was hugely intimidated.Well, why not when Francheska is tall, hot, very confident, well traveled and she drives a cool SUV! That's all Jenny could see but all her friend could see is she's so lucky she gets to sleep with that killer body! (Lol,Jenny you have a cool fun friend) They bump into each other again at the bar where the TWAT THE NIGHT girls were playing ( remember those girls on the previous episode )Jenny's friend encourage Jenny to pull herself together and compete with her. She believes that Marina will not turn to Jenny if she hadn't seen anything on her of interest. Poor Jenny, spying on Francheska didn't made her feel any better. It made her feel shit.Well, nothing good happens when you stalk people or much more compare yourself PHYSICALLY to other people specially women.Either it makes you feel so small or make you feel better than others. Seriously Jenny, Let it go. Is your pain not enough?! TiBETTE So Bette wasn't the only one who have the daddy blues.Tina has her own fears too. They join a counselling group to deal with their parenting fears. At first ,Bette was hesitant to share or anything at first. It took her a while before she had the courage to share her fear. There were all sorts of fears from every parent.Tina's fear was Melvin rejecting their child and Bette's fear was not providing enough for the family. When they got home,Bette was still upset that Tina tries to sympathize with her but instead, Bette takes her rage on Tina telling her it's her whole life that Yolanda is attacking emphasizing that Tina what it means to be in her shoes.(Tina let me translate that for you; I can do this on my OWN.There's no concept of "we" when it comes to my pain and issues. You simply can't help) They went again for the next session and Bette debated Yolanda while everyone just listens to their argument about race. Tina tried to defend Bette but Bette stopped her and rudely tells her she don't need Tina defending her in front of everyone. THIS PICTURE of them together in therapy dealing with their worries and fears as parents while unintentionally bringing up other issues such as their different attitude when dealing with conflict gives me the impression that they will be heading to a more serious trouble or fight in the future. Tina is obviously the more submissive one. Every time she speaks and introduce herself as "we" it gives me the impression that she always acknowledge Bette in every decision she makes. To her,any decision she get to make must represent both of them as partners. They had another sharing session and Bette was more relaxed sharing some of her worries more when Yolanda attacked her. She called her pretentious and mock her for not embracing her black race to which Bette responded it wasn't her fault when her skin color doesn't automatically announce who she is. Their argument escalated that the counselor have to stop them. Unfortunately,Bette's approach towards partnership is more of independent. She puts this " I can do this on my own" attitude. When dealing with conflict, she usually tries to face alone without needing to confide or confront Tina.Shes the Alpha. There's that part of Bette that sometimes scares me and makes me worried for Tina. But there was also that part of her that I absolutely adore. She's into two extremes. The part when she's in love and protective, she's darn the cutest and most amazing lover. But then when she's stress and angry, she's got this temper like that of Tyson. It works for now because Tina doesn't have other things to worry about but to play the wife. She doesn't have a work to worry about, she just concentrates on being a mother and a wife. But it is exhausting to be pregnant so I think the SEX part wasn't something that she can always offer Bette always. For now... Bette however had been through a lot of stress at work and personally. Her line of job is very demanding and her work attitude is very competitive. Then she comes home and she has to play the father. The provider and at the same time dealing with Tina's pregnancy moods. At work, she has been receiving threats from people against her recent PROVOCATION exhibit specially from religious people.Outside work, people are lining up for a protest against CAC. First step of being soon to be parents was already stressful. There's this list of unending worry. There's the issue of racing a biracial child. There's a part of her that she thinks she might have started to fall out of love.Or maybe, things were getting low and boring. They don't excite each other that much anymore. The list goes on and on. Watching this whole ton of drama was too heavy but then I like how it's actually realistic. It's easy to hate on Bette how she treated Tina like shit but in real life,it actually is even worse. When you go through the whole stressful thing and endless responsibilities plus you have that kind of personality,I think Bette's reaction is real and normal. They have to sort this out really. This is also the first time Dana's family was introduced to everyone.Well,we get to know her parents are well to do and very influential and she has a younger brother who is already aware that she's gay. It must be a misery for her before finally telling her mom.The first time she attempted, she just hinted on it.But Alice don't think her mother understood it.She finally went and told her mother face to face.Of course, she freaks out and left her. That's the initial reaction. I think at this point, all Dana could care for was not her mother accepting her but the feeling of finally relieved and free. The feeling that at least, they are aware who she was and whatever their decision is,it's up to them. Okay Dana, breath! Few thorns uprooted! DANA'S FEAR TO COME OUT TO HER PARENTS Yeah! She gets to be Subaru's endorser! But she wasn't happy. She's in fear of what her REPUBLICAN PARENTS will say to her once they find out.She fears how her WOMAN OF THE YEAR mother would react.Much more she have no idea what to say and how to say it.She has to come out to her parents before her mother figure out. And Alice offered to go with her just in case she needed someone to hold her once she collapse..or chicken out..or something... Bette's being control freak wasn't only something that Tina has to deal with but it went as far as her sister Kit.She went to see her and Slim Daddy was offering Kit a deal for her old song and Bette interrupted uninvited much to Kit's dismay. She thought she's helping Kit but she's actually shooing away Kit's possible deal. Shane caught Clive stealing from random people in the street, (the friend allowed to stay with her for just one week) and she confronted him even offering him some money to pay a couple of days in some hotel but he was ungrateful telling Shane if it wasn't for him,she will not have those celebrity clients to which Shane acknowledges it but the same time giving him the "FUCK YOU" reaction.Yes,he might have help Shane but it doesn't mean she is indebted to him her whole life. I didn't like serious this whole episode was but thank God,even Dana's most fearful moments still cracks me.When Tibette are fighting,it is really heavy. But when Dana is going through something,I don;t know how she still manages to make me smile.
Jenny's situation might be entertaining to see how they acted like one of those jealous high school teenagers. Her friend is so cool though! I like her.
