Hindi po kami nag usap usap na magblack.Sadyang nagkataon lang. And I think black is our fave color.Sino ba ang ayaw nun e madali iterno tapos payat tignan sa taong majubese gaya ko:) Looking back,I almost gave up waiting but I still chose to hold on while employed in Makati. After months of waiting,I finally got a call in April and started training in May 2009. As a pioneer of this account, there are so many things that I would like to talk about. But for now,I'm caught in between "I've- made- it-this-far" and "I've -missed-my-wavemates" kind of sentiments.I don't even know where to start because It's like fireworks in my mind really! For starters, let me talk about my my experience as a pioneer for this account four years before and after.
The bed sheets were being replaced every other day or whenever it's needed and I love the warm cotton blue blankets. We have BMS on schedule that served as our alarm clock.First, you must log your name and leave your ID and indicate the exact time they are suppose to wake you up.So when you didn't inform BMS and you just transfered to another bed it would be double trouble.Either they will wake up the wrong person or you will oversleep. And I like it because there's lesser destruction as phones are required to be on silent mode so no one will have to disturb anyone. That had been going on for quiet sometime not until last year, when I went for a nap during my lunch,it's not the same anymore.I haven't been in the sleeping quarters for a long time so I was really so surprised. It's nothing like it was before.I never used the sleeping quarters for a very long time now. Since Manila is five hours behind NZ,our earliest schedule is 3am and that had been my shift for the past 3 months in 2009.I admit it was very challenging to be on that shift because I really have to wake up so early and it's very risky from where I'm staying. So I have to sleep at the office for safety and it had lasted for months.I got so comfortable because I can take my shower at the office.I have my locker and pantry is serving food 24/7.Actually,if you're residing that far,you can stay at the office and go home only on weekends. But I know my limits of course. As a pioneer,I guess it's best to start with how the account started and what's it's like four years ago. And so,here's how it all started... TRAINING DAYS On the 4rth of May 2009,training for cultural immersion started. This was set for NZ account and I'm so excited because I'll be part of a pioneer account. Emil,my trainer loved using the name Candice in our mock calls. We've learned much about NZ that both amazed me and shocked me.Everything I learned about NZ is a beautiful trivia for me and I was eager to know more about them on product training. After two weeks,we were under pressure again and I'm personally nervous if I'm going to past the training but yeah,I did.I just don't have that confidence to believe I can. RUTH (KIWI PRODUCT TRAINER) After two weeks in Cultural training,we have to undergo product training. We were told once we passed the product training,we would be endorsed to operations.I remember our first day, most of us find our trainer's Kiwi Accent hard to understand and in a way confusing.I bet she felt the same way too for us.It was very different from the usual English or Southern accent that I'm used to so again,it's another surprise for me and I'm delighted with everything that I have discovered so far.The account was less complicated back then but the most challenging part was the accent.Like when we listen to recorded calls, we don't understand anything so she has to replay the calls repeatedly so we can catch up. After two weeks,it was assessment time again and It felt like I'm in College pressured preparing for an exam. There were many assessments and mock calls per day and for someone like me who wanted so much to have a job,I have to really learn as fast as I can. It's not just written but mostly verbal.God is good to me because of all the eighteen trainees from Wave 1,I'm one of the ten people who passed and I feel more confident to be able to survive training.
account might be challenging as well since our calls lasts for only seconds. She's a very nice and genuine person.I sometimes spend my lunch with her.I'm not sure how many months she stayed with YPG but she resigned a few months after.I'm glad I've met her because she's one of those who inspired me when I was starting. The friendship and goodness she showed me that time was really a big help considering I'm very shy and socially inept. By early June, the account was launched. At first,30% of the queue went to us while 70% went to our counter part in NZ.Our first calls were really hilarious and shocking.I think most of us had escalated calls. It's a two way shock,Caller was like "who are you? Where abouts are you? and we were like " Sorry????".It was hilarious come to think off. Those are the days. TL Jojo was my first team leader and the pioneer team leader for the account. He was very strict but within boundaries.I never experienced disputes when he was my TL.He always keeps us updated with our daily performances. We often call him as "Kamay na Bakal" because he can really challenge you to be at your best. After two years,he was assigned to another account.I would say he was indeed a leader and my respect goes with him.And oh,he's very athletic.I admire that part of him too :)
said.I think 95 % of my calls are being transferred to SD.It was really hilarious remembering those days. She stayed with us for three months. After sometime, some other Kiwi's joined us.Luke came along with Wave 2.Frances came along with Wave 3.Lisa came with wave 4.We have also the support of their TL Megan. We had Caroline replacing Ruth.We have also have the Operations Manager Daniel who also stayed here for quiet sometime. Among our first few SD's are Lester,Tin,Dino,Ayie Macky and the others that I can't remember.Obviously we are not close.Oh,I remember Migz too was one of the first batch of SD's who is now my TL. After sometime,TL.Jojo handled IDA.TL Jonah handled SD and TL Dante handled DA. TL DAN He was the third team leader to join this account. We have done a couple of reshuffle and I keep going back to him.I'm grateful of course because he knows me well as compared to other TL's. He is my TL for the longest time despite being reshuffled,I keep finding my way back to him.Well,we are inseparable.I'm not even complaining because I love him. Cabu & Rowe (first Operations Managers) Rowe became our OM after Cabu resigned a few months after we launched the account.Cabu on the other hand was our very first OM and according to her, this account was her 13th project as a Manager (apparently was her last with us). They are also good friends. LEE AND JAMES (OM & SOM) Lee replaced Rowe after she resigned. After sometime,Lee became our Senior Operations Manager and James took over as the new Operations Manager. Right now things have really changed hugely.Roj who was previously a trainer turned TL and was the Operations Manager Intern for a few months.Mai from Wave 3 who was our previous QA is now one of the TL's and so with Migz and Hazel.Migs was a previous product trainer along with Fatima.Hazel was reassigned as TL in Pampanga. As a result, they need interns.Van and Demcy took the TL internship.Mommy who was a previous intern step down and returned as SME.Rojen and Reich are the new QA interns and recently my good friend Dibs got her internship as a trainer! Other updates includes agents tried other avenues like OSC so far we have Jim,Grace,Maj,Joyce ,Daddy Marvs among the hired OSC's.In fact,Maj and Jim just got promoted . Wait,is there something wrong with me? Did you notice almost everyone is going somewhere but me? I am stuck as an SME.No it was my choice and I have personal reasons.Gelo is now in the US.Jerome now in Singapore.Ayie in Saudi.Kuya Dino in London.Lester also in the Middle east. The other people that I've met and became my friends are either resigned for greener pasture while some of them are still here with me. If you ask me who are still here from the pioneer team? Here are the current Pioneering Team after four years and counting..... WAVE 1,REMAINING PIONEERS AS OF 2014 Working here is really one of a kind and a huge blessing.I never imagine myself to be working in this industry but here I am,I survived the stress and the challenges that comes along with it.It was such a wonderful experience. From time to time,I missed my previous team mates and wavemates. Those that stayed with me over a lunch ,or those that went with me for a movie date.Or those that simply wasted precious moments of their time just to listen to my rants,my frustrations, and my boring stories. I cannot fully say how far I've gone. What I can only remember is my confidence had improved. Well, one of those people that I will miss and remember the most is an extra ordinary friend.Uniquely weird, disciplined, athletic and always on the go.I really missed her so much for a lot of reasons.Below is her one and only final email for all of us before she resigned. Hi Guys, Before I go I'll teach you the secret to System Issue: Profile Deleted! ;D Try this: Login-Logout-Login-Logout-Login-Logout-Login-Logout-Login-Logout...many many times again and again while whispering "system issue, I summon you". Then pull the plug of your Nortel Phone. Hehe that should do the trick. I just finished cleaning up my Kerio and removed every evidence that could be used for whatever purpose that would serve the powers that be based on whatever reason they could think of. I'm just being paranoid. I scanned every folder and reread the emails. Some were useful, others not so useful, and some were hard to decipher. The bulk of my inbox, the emails I chose to keep, were our secret messages, the ones that were just OURS: rants, complaints, suspicions, fears, funny moments, hopes, and sentiments. There were also little notes I've written for a complaint and an update I had filed, and a list of OTs during the time that we were understaffed. It was like packing my belongings ang putting them away in boxes. I'll keep those memories somewhere safe where the IT people can't reach them haha. DELETE. I scanned the folders again for the last time and got the following: There are no messages in this folder, There are no notes in this folder, There are no tasks in this folder. I thought 'Bad Kerio, Bad! You don't have to state the obvious...' It just occurred to me that I'm really going away. I'm going to miss this tututoot piece of low-tech email. But most of all I'm going to miss you guys. There has been a lot of changes and there will be more to come but I'm confident that we will all endure. I will miss you all, don't forget to say hi if we ever meet again. :D *Sniff, tissue please* MEMORIES In the name of those who left and the very few who stayed,CHEERS! Til we meet again!
