"Actually, I just finished a wonderful story
PLOT & REVIEWThis is a personal love story of a girl named Ember who met a mysterious guy to which she fell in love with. And story is all about her discovering the dark deep secrets of the man she loves and how she helped him love himself and move on from the shackles of his painful past. Ember Walsh or Em as her friends and family call her is basically a wall flower. She's introverted and prefers staying home burried in her books. She don't go to clubs or parties. She grew up with her dad because her mom died while she was very young.According to reports,it was an accident.AS she grew older, she found out that it was hit and run murder. She learned all the basic skills from her dad and that also includes personal stuff like menstruation and the bees and the flowers to changing tyre's and other guy stuffs. She grew up in Fishtown,a tiny community in Philly and went to school at the UofD then moved to New York over summer with the hope of persuing her passion in writing. Her room mate was Lena,a long time extrovert childhood friend .Lena is her BFF but she changed a lot after she dated Todd. There were countless moments when she is so insensitive towards Em.Just like how Em's father puts it,Lena undermines Em.She belittles her just to make herself looks better.Em accepted the role as the shadow while Lena stood in the spotlight and worse, she's convinced Em that the shadows are where she prefers to be.That had been their relationship and Em was able to deal with it.Recently,Lena's turning into a total bitch and Em realized that Lena was not the ideal friend she wanted to have in her life.Em is not sure if tom was a bad influence to her..He is an investments banker.Yes,he is attractive but he had the personality of a dead fish. Another negative about Todd;Lena being with him was turning her into an uber bitch. One night,Lena tried her best to convince Em to go clubbing at Sapphire.Of course,it's one of her least favorite place but she went anyway for Lena's shake.Obviously,Lena wanted companion only but once Todd arrived she left Em on her own.Em got bored so she went looking for Lena so she can go home but she met a pervert drunk guy asking her to dance with him on her attempt to leave the club. She politely declined at first but the guy was very persistent and it is where all the drama and story of her life started. The pervert's name is Dane and according to records,he was a free sociopath and almost mentally sick.He had done lots of terrible stuff but never been jailed since the Carmichael family is very well known, rich and well protected.Em as trying so hard to resist and fight him but his grasp is really strong. Then someone came to her rescue. The man was full of rage that he punched Dane over and over almost killing him but someone intervened. He asked Em if she was okay and then immediately left.Em finds him attractive and mysterious all at the same time. She's indebted to him but had no chance to know who that guy is. During her chat with Luke one of the bartenders at Sapphire, she found out the guys name is Trace Montgomery. He doesn't do relationships; he's a love them-and-leave-them kind of guy. Any night of the week he'll be here with someone different. It's just who he is.He had nice cheekbones, a strong jaw, a poet's mouth and a nose that'd been broken a time or two which kept him from looking too perfect. His face was gorgeous but hard and there was a coldness in those beautiful eyes .He has tatooe on his arm.He is a fighter too. There was so much more to him than the callous, womanizing hot-head that he was rumored to be -- that there was a really good man underneath. The image he allowed everyone to see was just that, an image. The real Trace Montgomery was far more complicated and feared that underneath his seemingly put together and beautiful outer package existed a damaged soul. It didn't end there. There's more.Apparently,Trace had the most secrets in the world.Maybe he's upfor Guiness World Records. And the mother of all surprises? Trace owned Noir,Clover (where Em worked ) and Sapphire. Em found out that Lena left Sapphire with Todd without even saying goodbye to her.She was in rage. How could Lena did that to her when she wasn't suppose to be in Sapphire if not for her for in the first place?! She tried to confront Lena but as usual, she just snarl at her.Their friendship was falling apart so most of the time,Em spent her time with Trent, her closest friend at the bar where she works. She still tried to talk to Lena but everytime, she's bitchy towards her. There were also times when she got home and find the two having sex on the couch. And instead of apologizing,Lena had the face to get angry at Em .She can't take her bitchiness anymore so one evening when she caught them having sex and Lena complaining about not giving them privacy,Em said " "You aren't really giving me shit for walking into my own apartment, are you Lena? If you and Todd want to get naked that's your business but if you choose to do so in the living room when you have a perfectly private bedroom, then you're going to have to expect interruptions." ....and to add, here's another classic line too! "Well, next time lead it down the hall to your bedroom because walking in and seeing your boyfriend's pasty-white ass is not high on my list of must sees Hell, it isn't even on my list." Clap! Clap! Clap! A thousand applause! Well said Em! Way to go! What took her so long to stood up against her bitchy friend? How come she still tolerated her that long? Hmmm.. Anyway, going back .Em can't get over the guy who came to her rescue. What is with him that she suddenly get obsessed knowing more about him despite Luke's warning. He's a womanizer as she caught him twice at the washroom having sex with some random woman but he is far more very interesting.Well,circumstances.Turns out they both love jogging in the mornings and having coffee at Starbucks afterwards.Later on,they became friends and their bonding was usually jogging and having coffee at starbucks after.Em learned more about him and she fell in love with the guy inside him more than the symbolic tattoo on his arm.She also found out that Trace is a fighter. He fought not for the love of it or for the money but as a release for his rage. What in his past fueled it? "This thing -- it isn't just rage in him. He also has a dee rooted belief that he's nothing Trace's image was not just a product of his low self-esteem but a means to keep people from looking too deeply at him He had people around him all the time but no one that mattered, no one that he cared about, no one he loved and he didn't because he hadn't let anyone get close enough. Seriously, what is with this guy.Does he have mental telepathy connection with Em that everytime she's in danger he's there just on time to rescue her in more than one occasion? He is far more effecient than Batman,Spiderman specially Superman because atleast everytime Em is in danger,Trace is righ there just in the nick of time to save her.He is everything and way more efficient as compared to the superheroes who can saved anyone in this world but not the woman they love.Either they are too late or they use the woman they love to weaken them.I would rather go for Trace than Superhuman! And I like Em because she's not pushy and definitely not a nagger.I can say it's one of the Perks of being a wall flower because in the process, you learn humility.Though at times, tendency is she's too passive and she's spend most of the time wondering about what's troubling the guy she loves the most and she feels helpless of not being able to do something.Trace believes that he is a piece of shit. He doesn't think he's good enough for Em and at some point he's going to push anyone he cares about away. But in reality is he? Turns out, surprising Em is his last name! As Em tries to get through him,she got to discover something new about him each day.She learned that Trace was the most compassionate tattoed fighter in the world. She also learned that Trace has a sister named Chelsea who is in a private mental institution. She's a year older than Em but she has the brain of an 8 year old child. That was because when they were younger,Trace tried to escape with her sister from their abusive father but they met an accident that caused a permanent mental damaged to her sister. Trace and Em became a couple .So next issue they have to deal with is the killer of Trace parents.I didn't understand the last part anymore about who killed who because I lose interest.I just remembered, the couple lived happily ever after! Were married with Trace mother,Chelsea his sister.Of course, there was Em's father and beloved uncle.Somehow the family is complete because they can both have a mother and a father on both sides.Of course Lucien, their good friend was there. And They lived happily ever after! Em was right actually.Trace shouldn't be hard on himself because come to think of it,the accident was somehow a blessing in disguise. What if Chelsea grew up normally like Trace? Is there any assurance that she'll live her life in a more positive approach? Is there a guarantee that she will forget what her father has been doing to her when she was younger? There's always a good side to everything most would say and I bet I agree. Trace was too hard to himself and I didn't like it.As the story approached the end,I'm not happy because it ran out of charm. It was getting too mushy and too emotional and unreasonable. The tough guy who can't be moved suddenly become too mushy and super emotional.I just didn't enjoy the ending. The romance suddenly turned into a crime scene. The twist was not crafted well and I didn't like it. There were moments when I feel like Trace character is very confusing.Sometimes, his character is too much.Yes,I love the fact that he is a guy any woman loves to fantasize with but he is also a guy that you will love to hate.I actually think his character is over written.Like it's too much for a real guy in real life.Yes,his past will affect him greatly in his life but I don't think not in everything he does. It's OA I would think. That brings me to comparison with Travis, the guy from BEAUTIFUL DISASTER but I can't help but wonder, are these two related? Is it coincidence that both guys have the same character and not to mention the resemblance of the title of the book? They are both tatooed, good looking, fighter, mysterious, chased by women but fall hard to the simplest and most plain woman on planet earth? and both characters have same initials-"T".And what's the big deal of tatooed mysterious guys.I can say I fall for it everytime. But Travis will always be my first love of course because I remember the satiating feeling I felt while reading "Beautiful Disaster".Or maybe, this book should have the same effect it's only that the approach is not new to me so It just felt normal.Well, first times are really unforgetable.Trace's character is something to fall for but Trace & Aby love story is so far the best for me. This is too much at times but this is nothing compared to book "Beautiful Disaster".It was too emotional and beating around the bush. The phasing is really to slow and tendency is you end up angrier each time.wtf! There I said it! MORAL OF THE STORY There are two things that I would like to focus on in this story. a) THE PAIN OF BEING ALIVE It's true that childhood mistreats or abuse will surely affect any child in their future. It is true that no matter how much you achieved and get in life, there will always be a part of you that would look back in your past and depending on your own memory,it can either break you or make you.It is true that those who are in trouble and is up for attention usually does not have happy childhood memories.Either they were abused or molested. But here's the thing,it still depends on you.I can speak confidently of this because I am also a product of unhappy childhood life.I came from a broken home. Was molested a couple of times by people close to me.And that pain is unbearable. Many times I attempted suicide but thanks to those few people who helped me changed my perception in life.I was loved by them. They genuinely care for me,and it took me 10 years to move on and learn to love myself.I can't say I'm fully healed. But today I'm happier and more positive .I'm more confident in life.I swear before I don't even have the courage to see myself in the mirror but right now,it is very different. You see,who we are is the result of how we see and project ourselves. And everything that happens in our lives is up to us.It is our own choice. We can choose to shut our shelves from anyone but we cannot escape from the fact that it will resurface from time to time. Personally,I can say there's still a good side to it.Being an abused child myself,It helps build my character specially when it comes to the emotional aspect.I can easily relate to brokeness or pain.I can associate with anyone who is in pain because I for one have gone thorugh lots of pains while growing up.Pain that are etched in my heart.Pains that no matter how I tried to forget,I simply can't.I learned that I can't escape my past because it's already part of me.Instead of staying bitter and unhappy,I decided to look the good side of it.Surely,it will be hard to see the positive side of it specially if you can't even face it.But in time, you will if you want to.You just need to surround yourself with people who love and care for you deeply because only in their love that you learn and absorb. The assurances and encouragement you can get from these people will help you move on.My past helps me to be compassionate and understanding specially to children who were also abused. I guess,of all the deep dark secrets of Trace revealed in this story this is the only secret that had a great impact on me .But Ireally think it was too much already. The author really know how to capture all the single ladies hearts to fall in love with his main character. b) ON LOVE I'll admit for the __th times that I'm one of those women who fantasize on a bad boy -mysterious -guy.A guy who is so tough on the outside but gentle inside.A guy that everybody fears but someone who's fear is loosing the woman he loves. This is of course fictional fantasy but a woman can fantasize too! Though of course there's a big difference between a woman and a man's fantasy.Men are usually into sex. They are visual.Women like me is more of time together.Dates.Hugs.Comfort and assurance that we are loved deeply.Agree or disagree I don't know. This is my point of view anyway.I don't know anything much about love but this is the most common topic asked of me lots of times. It's weird but yeah, life is a joker sometimes like in some love story books.
