Recently,I just thought of writing about certain national issues that really had a great impact individually or socially in our country. It's weird because my first topic is election day.One of the topics that I'm least interested but since it's really a big issue I decided to voice out my thoughts.I'll try my very best to keep it light as much as possible.I cannot guarantee that but I'll try my best :) May 13,2013 election Finally,I won't be seeing or even be hearing those political campaign ads on TV or over the radio. Those lies that they play over and over.I'm not actually in the position to talk about this because I'm not even a registered voter.I heard people telling me every time that I don't have any right to complain or don't have any say on political issues because I didn't practice my right to vote. But I'm paying my tax to the government so I still got to have a say on this.I understand what they have been telling me for the past 9 years but I have personal reasons why I never voted for so long. This is of course very subjective and might seem childish to some but well, they are my own reasons. It's just my own POV. When I was 18,just in my legal age to vote I don't know how to start on my own.You see, during that time,I was an innocent probinsyana here in Manila who didn't know anything about my legal rights as a Filipina. After a couple of years, election day was fast approaching and It was the only time I thought of registering so I can vote .I made an attempt to register in Quezon City Hall but the line to the registration office was longer than Edsa so I didn't go.After a year,I had the chance to go home so I thought It's a perfect time to register in my own hometown. It would mean I get the chance to speak for my family and kababayans.I was excited but when I went to inquire,I was told voters registration comes at specific time of the year so I can't just walk in there and register anytime I want. Then a couple of years passed, election came again.I was thinking of maybe registering here in Quezon City but I was so annoyed .I was checking the Political line up that time and I didn't see myself casting my votes for these people. I don't think it will make any difference if I cast my vote that year or not.For the pass administration, the Congress spent almost half of their term discussing about impeachment and other accusations and it was a waste of time because it looks like an obsession anymore. It was mostly personal and It was really tiring because there are larger issues to deal with and yet they are busy with their personal political shits. Every time I watch those political advertisement on TV,It pisses me off.I can't believe how smart politicians suddenly were willing to look and sound stupid just to come up with those advertisements.I don't understand why most of the political advertisements ay parang tanga at bobo lang.I'm actually so insulted watching their political propaganda. They paid celebrities to help promote them. They alter some songs by replacing with their own lyrics. They sing and dance and whatever things they do.In short, nagpapakatanga lang. It really pissed me off.Politics alone is dirty but these politicians make it worst because of the issue of corruption.I don't have any legal basis to even say this but I'm basing on small situations from time to time.Of course,I feel grateful to the Aquino administration for their goal to fight corruption but It would be great also if it starts on small things specially in public services such as police stations, schools and hospitals.I can confidently tell government services sucks here in our country. It's a big example of corruption. In school, how many times do staff and even teachers steal time from their students? I experienced it every enrollment or tuition fee payment days.Usually,we have to wait for long hours to be served by these people. What took them so long? Unproductiveness.Instead of taking care of us nagchichismisan lang sila sa loob.O di kaya, the registrar is napakasungit.Or over breaks to do personal business at work.If there's really one service that I want to government to provide, that would be 24 hrs complaint and investigation line.Police stations can be seen anywhere but the police officers are not available most of the time.In hospitals, you were given special treatment if you can afford the service. They don't care if it's between life and death.Just hang on and wait .Well, our giant networks actually provide service for it such as Imbestigador,Tulfo and others to condemn such unacceptable acts but it's not enough.Their purpose for providing such services are mainly network promotion and popularity.Theirs is to earn higher ratings and awards. We should have those like other first world countries.Dun pa lang sa pang araw araw na buhay, madami nang corruption. How can you expect corruption to end if we don't start from small things.I actually don't think corruption will be totally gone.I think it's part of our culture already. Anyway, going back to the political gimik, anong akala nila sa lahat ng tao sa Pilipinas, uto uto lang? That's the thing.Majority of the voters are really uneducated. These are the innocent people who know nothing much about the real world.IF they need votes, they go to the poor and uneducated and promise stupid things. If they need financial help they turn to businessmen and from the collected taxes. Probably,so far this year's political candidates is the worst line up ever in my entire life.I really don't really see myself participating in the election even if given I'm a registered voter for the following reasons; 1)Most came from Political dynasties and celebrities. Hence, they don't have that experience in politics and also they don't have a background on the basics.Should I mention Nancy Binay (the daughter of Vice President Binay and the rest of his family members are mostly politicians now) .I can accept it if she started small for learning experience but with that huge leap Well I hope she will prove herself worthy of the position.Well, let's give them a chance:) There's also Cynthia Villar, the wife of Manny Villar. At least unlike Nancy, she had a bit of public service experience but to be suddenly in the Senate is a big joke. There's also Grace Poe who dominated the election. The one who said in her political ad "hindi ko gagamitin ang pangalan ng tatay ko" but in every sentence she said,it ends with the word "Poe".Nakakainsulto! First of all, what is she? A man? She was married and still she carries the same last name???? And there were other one's too.Idk.Nakakainit lang ng ulo. And did I mention Erap who in his old age can't almost speak properly but he won as the Mayor of Manila city? What's wrong with the people? He has a never say die fighting spirit but all through out the years when he was given the chance, was it worth it? Again, what is wrong with them! 2) MOST OF THE ELECTED TODAY ARE "CELEBRITY TURNED POLITICIANS" Shall I name them one by one? It's not always a bad thing.I guess Showbiz and Politics share the same world "Dirty and Corrupt" But in all fairness, there were celebrities who really have politics in their blood. It's sort of a calling like Bistek Baustista. The difference is he started from the lowest position gaining experience one after the other before finally running as the Mayor of Quezon City and from then on,he has proven himself capable. But the others I'm not so sure.So far,we have lots of cele-ticians sitting on their desk and never heard of them after winning the election.Never heard of what they did to contribute. They are still popular and beautiful and is good to look at but workwise, not much.In Senate, there's BONG REVILLA,JINGOY ESTRADA,LITO LAPID,LUCY TORRES,TITO SOTTO not to mention Manny Pacquiao.Well, they should keep him for entertaiment purposes.Atleast if he has scheduled big fights, the world was like frozen and everyone forget about their personal fights and issues. For other political positions we have VILMA SANTOS as the Governor of Lipa.Lani Mercado Revilla I think is now a politician too. There's Alfred Vargas as one of our councilors on District 11 Quezon City etc.. I actually think if Anne Curtis,Solen and Georgina Wilson or even Vice Ganda will try politics, they will win! That's always been the drill. If you're popular and beautiful and fun to be with,go! 3) POLITICAL DYNASTY It depends. It can be either good or bad.It depends if people really like them or there's no one to challenge them because of fear that their lives might be endangered. So far,the most popular for me are the BINAY'S in Makati. There's Chavit Singson who almost owned Ilocos. In Isabela, there's the controversial DY DYNASTY who had been rulling Isabela for decades.Grace Padaca tried to challenge them a few years back and her life was in great danger but the people sheltered her. Well, there are also other things but I'm tired of ranting now.I just hope each will do their best for the good of our country.Or they should make themselves worthy.Just like Senator Mirriam said in her welcome speech to the newbies .... "Magenrol kayo sa akin ng political science, tuturuan ko kayo"... I'm glad,I didn't cast my vote because I don't feel guilty with the turn of events. The political scandals right now make me feel less burdened because I'm not one of those who put these politicians in their seat. That's excatly my reason why I didn't cast my vote because most of them doesn't deserve it.I can only vote for Mirriam but even if I don't vote this year,I know she'll win.I don't know if there's hope for this government.I'm not sure who's good hearted enough to start a clean government.Probably,it will take a hundred years? I'm not sure.I'll probably vote when I see good reason to vote. For now,I'm so disappointed and pissed off.
