“You will love Filipino food for sure!”, “There is nothing better than seafood in the Philippines”, “Filipinos are proud of their very own local dishes”…
Sorry guys for disappointing you, but it is not true in our opinion.
MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS ON THIS...
Para sa akin,OO.Isang malaking OO! if you attend fiesta in Pampanga alone,you will notice most of the food are swimming in FATS.Yes,F.AT.S.Cholesterol fat.Pork fat!
But tell me, which country has the HEALTHIEST CUISINE?! Tell me.Like can anyone who traveled around the world have a blog of the HEALTHIEST country in terms of FOOD CONSUMPTION?! A country who totally lives in natural NON PROCESSED ANTI- CHOLESTEROL cuisine?!
If someone will convince me enough that such country does exist,tell me I will GO THERE! I will live there! I will start saving as much as I can so I can migrate there! Ohmygwad!That would be my perfect HOME!
But the thing is,will there be one?!Yes,they don't have LECHON,ISAW,ADIDAS,ADOBO etc... but let's talk about their GIGANTIC PIZZA PROBLEM.That alone...Do we need to go on and on.But this is not the purpose of it.This is not to criticize each other.We all have our FOOD preference that is why we exist.That's why we have are divided into continents.That is why we belong to a certain race in a certain country.That is why we belong to a family,a home, and a table FULL OF FOOD.Food of our own preference.I don't know how I ended there! Hahaha.Like if you don't want my addiction to vegetable fruit salad and I criticize you for it,is that justifiable?! It's just a matter of respect,understanding and learning when to practice the "ART OF DEDMA".
The thing is,I didn't like the "BACKLASH" part.Is there really a need to do that when they are just writing their own honest experience? They are bloggers and foreigners.We can't FORCE THEM to LOVE our own local dishes.It's a free country and they are allowed to write about their experience and how they feel about it.If their purpose is to taunt us then let them.I'm sure lots of foreigners who already came here also have their own say on this.
If they can't see anything good but negativity then it's their problem anymore.It's how they perceive things.We can't go THRASHING someone because of their honest opinion of what they think and feel.
If there's someone who needs to adjust,it should be us who live here.Obviously,they didn't have a great experience because they seem to have miss the goodspots.But even if let's say they are just being HARSH,do we really need to go as far as backlashing them?!
Like seriously,if someone says good thing about our country,we ride in.But if someone is being honest and said something really negative,we go backlashing them?!
I wrote this comment on Divine's status on FB about this;
"I've read this the other day and I think somehow,they don't deserve TOO MUCH CRITISM AND HATE.It's their own blog naman kasi.It's their own experience and feelings and they are free to say how they feel about their experience.Pag pangit lang nakita nila yun sila.Ang nakakaloka,naging defensive na naman ang karamihan which is di dapat na lang sana pinansin kasi they are foreigners and how would you expect a foreigner to LIKE AND LOVE pinoy food the first time?
Pag ako ba pumunta ng INDIA TAPOS ayaw ko kumain ng CURRY,magagalit ang BUONG india sa akin dahil ayaw ko ng pagkain nila? Yun nga lang EXTREME din kasi yung pagkakasulat nila to the point that they are bullying us.Kung yun ang purpose ng blog nila eh dedma.Hindi lang naman sila ang foreigner na pumunta dito.Andami dyan pumunta dito na maganda ang reviews,why would we waste our energy to people like them? we don't go FORCING PEOPLE to like our food.One of the downside of pinoy culture is pag maganda,go pero pag pangit sumusugod"
